Project Overview

Crossing Pointe at Christian City is an 80-unit affordable independent senior living community developed by National Church Residences in partnership with Christian City, on a 4.48-acre parcel at the intersection of Lester Road and Red Oak Road in Union City, Georgia. The site sits deliberately at a crossroads of the larger Christian City campus, positioned to strengthen connection between the community's senior residents and the youth and families served elsewhere on campus, rather than sitting apart from it.

The building is a four-story, wood-framed structure with a brick veneer and siding façade, designed by Atlanta-based Foley Design. It delivers 80 one-bedroom, one-bathroom homes built for comfort, accessibility, and aging in place, consisting of contemporary kitchens with solid-surface countertops, accessible bathrooms with zero-threshold showers, in-unit laundry hookups, and finishes selected for long-term livability.

Crossing Pointe serves seniors and adults with disabilities at 50% and 60% of area median income, with a portion of units carrying a waitlist preference for graduates of Two Sparrows, Christian City's program supporting neurodivergent adults and an extension of a campus built around inclusion. Residents have access to campus-wide amenities including transportation, recreational facilities, a community garden, a dog park, security patrol, and on-site service coordination.

Essayon's Scope

Essayon served as the wood framing and window installation trade contractor on Crossing Pointe, working under general contractor McShane Construction Company for developer National Church Residences. Essayon's team was on site from February 2025 through May 2025.

• Structural wood framing: full structural wood-frame package for the four-story building, sequenced to keep pace with a compact 4.48-acre campus site shared with active Christian City operations.

• Window installation: exterior window installation across all 80 units, coordinated directly with the brick veneer and siding package so window placement, flashing, and weatherproofing lined up cleanly with the finished envelope.

As with any senior-living product, tolerances matter beyond code minimums. For this project, the zero-threshold showers and accessible unit layouts left little room for framing drift to compound downstream. Essayon's superintendent-led oversight, working with vetted, repeat crew partners, kept framing tolerances tight through structural close-in so the window and finish trades that followed inherited a clean, predictable envelope rather than a punch list.

Why This Matters

Crossing Pointe is proof Essayon can deliver framing and window installation as a single coordinated scope on a schedule-compressed, campus-constrained site. Essayon is the one accountable partner across the structural-to-envelope hand-off, with fewer seams for a delay to hide in.

This project reflects the kind of building Essayon exists to help deliver: affordable, accessible senior housing built into an established community, where residents move in knowing the fundamentals, framing, windows, weatherproofing, were handled by a team that treated the schedule and the mission as inseparable.

Crossing Pointe extends Essayon's proof-of-work into income-restricted senior housing, a product type with its own accessibility and tolerance requirements, and adds a new developer relationship (National Church Residences) and a new architect relationship (Foley Design) to Essayon's Southeast portfolio.
