Aloft Lawrenceville is a 110-room hotel built in Lawrenceville, Georgia located in close proximity to Gas South Arena and steps away from Sugarloaf Mills mall in Gwinnett County. The five-story property features 112-loft like rooms and a variety of vibrant spaces including the WXYZ bar, a splash pool and a beautifully designed outdoor patio. Essayon served as the wood framers on this project building the five-story structure including the airy, 9-foot ceilings of the loft rooms.
Project Overview
The Aloft Lawrenceville Sugarloaf is a 5-story, 112-room commercial hotel in Gwinnett County, Georgia, which is part of Marriott's Aloft brand and positioned steps from Sugarloaf Mills mall and adjacent to Gas South Arena. At 61,070 square feet of Type IIIA wood frame construction, this wasn't a standard build. Hospitality projects demand tight tolerances, brand-standard ceiling heights, and framing coordination with MEP rough-in that leaves no room for rework. Essayon Construction Group served as the wood framing specialty subcontractor on this project, delivering the complete five-story structural wood frame, including the signature 9-foot loft-style ceilings that define the Aloft guest experience.
Scope of Work
Essayon's scope included the full structural wood framing package for all five stories of the building envelope, including wall framing, floor systems, roof structure, and all associated sheathing and layout. The 9-foot ceiling specification across the loft rooms required precise coordination to meet both the brand standard and the structural requirements of a five-story Type IIIA assembly. Essayon's superintendent-led crews maintained schedule and quality through each framing phase, coordinating closely with follow-on trades to protect the MEP rough-in sequence.
